Another fisherfolk organization from Bohol Province is getting livelihood assistance from BFAR Region 7. Consistent with its aim to uplift the fishery sector amid the health crisis, BFAR Region 7 assisted the Tagum Norte Fisherfolk Association from Trinidad town, Bohol in improving its livelihood. Today, BFAR Region 7 led by Regional Director Dr. Allan Poquita and Bohol Provincial Fishery Officer Candido Samijon facilitated the stocking of 5,500 milkfish or "bangus" fingerlings to the association-managed marine floating fish cage. The bangus fingerlings were earlier collected and packed from BFAR 7 - Central Visayas Multi-species Nursery Demonstration and Training Center in Calape town, Bohol. This group of marginal fishers also received one unit of marine fish cage as livelihood intervention marked under the Targeted Actions to Reduce Poverty and Generate Economic Transformation (TARGET) program of BFAR.
