Closing Program, Blessing and Turn-over of Fiber Glass Boats

The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources headed by Regional Director Andres Bojos distributed 52 units of Fiberglass boats to the fisherfolks of the municipality of San Remegio yesterday at Lapyahan Beach, Poblacion, San Remegio, Cebu.

The 52 units of boats consist of; two (2) fiberglass boats with marine engine and accessories (30 footer), thirty (30) fiberglass boats with marine engine (20 footer) and twenty (20) non motorized fiberglass boats (16 footer).

Present during the turn over were BFAR 7 Regional Director Andres M. Bojos, Mayor Mariano R. Martinez, MAO Aida Mamanao and BFAR 7 staff.

Aside from the distribution of boats, twenty four (24) fisherfolk also receives their certificate of recognition for completing their 60 days hands on training on fiberglass boats.

"This training's purpose is not only to provide you with fishing boats but to teach you how to make one" said Director Bojos.

He added that by giving these 52 units of fiberglass boats to the fisherfolk of san remegio it is expected that they would take good care of it.

Director Bojos also encourage these benefactors to advise and urge other unregistered fisherfolk to finally register in their respective municipality for them to also recieve such benefits.

"I'am grateful for Director Bojos for having this training to the fisherfolk of this municiplaty and to the twenty four (24) who had receive their certificates, mind you it will be very useful for you in the future" said Mayor Martinez.
